I know that not all the girl feel pain during the first time but most of them hurt a lot. How painful is your first time sex? It would be better if you can compare the pain with something else or rank it from 1 to 10 (1 is no pain at all, 10 is the most painful experience feel in your life time).

I don't remember my first time as painful - fumbling, but not painful. I was my husband's second wife. He had been "playing" with me during our engagement, so he could insert up to three fingers in my vagina (he started with just one). This meant that I was relaxed enough to take him without that part having to suddenly stretch.

Regarding the pain from the hymen breaking, my hymen must have been broken in an accident when I was about 6 years old (I fell on my shoe, in that area), because I did not experience any of that pain at all. While hymens are not easily broken, they can be. If you are having a pre-sex ob/gyn exam (which is not a bad idea in this era of STDs and yeast infections getting passed from partner to partner), you can ask the ob/gyn to check the status of your hymen.
