I would like to keep at least a dozen of these diminuitive fish with my 8 male guppies. The tank is 90litres, temp 24c, ph 7.6. Well planted with 6 Japonicas shrimp.

I know it is not advisable to add salt to a tank with plecos, and knowing that they both come for approximately the same area in south America, I would think that it is also not good for the corys.

1 teaspoon aquarium salt per gallon is really pushing the limit. We generally recommend only 1/2 teaspoon of salt per gallon of water unless the tank has dragon fish silver shark cats or other brackish type fish. Hastatus Cory is a hardy fish though.

Add salt in slow increments. This will allow Fish to adapt. Table salt aids fish in breathing when added to water, I have used it many times to nurse a sick fish back. Most fresh water fish can adapt to brackish conditions.

i would recommend purchasing a salenity test kit to better monitor your salt continent. I think your cory will do well as long as you acclamate him slowly to the shift in salinety, and i wouldnt push much past .25 sal.
