Although I know nothing of running a restaurant, for a reopening I would suggest one day/evening in big style with all sorts of special offers/events etc, but to keep the interest and draw in more customers keep special offers going for the remainder of the week. Anything longer and people will start to think you are deparate!

Usually, a weekend. A typical grand opening might span 3 or 4 nights, with each night devoted to a different clientelle. For instance, a restaurants very first opening might be closed to the general public, where only the owner's family and friends are present, and the family and friends of the employees. This closed door party is a great way to meet and greet your employees and their loved ones, and also a way to party and celebrate with those you know. Then, typically on a Friday, the grand opening to the public will occur (and is advertised). The grand opening could span the entire weekend, and you might offer specials on Sunday for families. You want to pack as many people into your new place as possible, when people are most available, to create as much buzz as you can. Therefore, I would avoid holding your grand opening during the weekdays.

A weekend would do...get also plenty of balloons and give to kids and maybe put up a daily SPECIAL..like a free desert or something for the first month...
also invite for a free meal to the local newspaper reporter in condition that will write a good review for you...
