The first India player to score a century in one day cricket was Kapil Dev. He scored 175 Nout Out against Zimbawe at Turnbridge Well on 18.06.1983 in the World Cup Match off 138 balls with the help of 16 fours and 6 sixers. India went on to win the World Cup that year
