Sounds like he may be suffering from a disease, fungus, or parasite. Try putting him in a bath of 1 gallon of water and one level teaspoon of salt for half an hour. Then do a partial water change and add one level tablespoon of salt for every 5 gallons of water. Makes sure all water is about the same temperature and use salt for freshwater aquariums.

Yellow gold....the prevalent of most of the white gold alloys on the instantaneous is crap (off colour yellowish or brownish) it really is why it must be plated with rhodium....except you're paying for a classic resources piece even as white gold replaced into of outstanding high quality and not in any respect plated because the colour replaced right into a proper silvery-gray like platinum and the jewellery shop chains did no longer ought to cover the inferior colour...also, that is a bunk tale even as rings shop clerks allow you to comprehend white gold is yellow gold 'dipped'...or that it discolors or turns colors with positioned on-it would not. If it turns colors, it ain't gold or that is the rhodium plating wearing off and the off colour crap-gold is showing below....

Call it Michael Jackson.
Is it a white fungus growing on the fish, or is the fish itself turning white? If it's fungus, you can get some treatment liquid from a pet shop, if it's the fish itself turning white, it could just be that it is changing colour, if it seems otherwise healthy. Goldfish can change colour as they age.

It could be fungus, it could be a disease known as Ick, it could be that it needs more light, or it could simply be changing colour with age if its an older fish. I have also noticed that as my shubunkin gold fish get bigger they lose some of the vibrant colours

Either he saw Casper the Friendly Ghost or he is going to die. Better get a priest to administer the last rites, and prepare for burial services, and start looking for a new fish.

This happened to my goldfish aswell. I own 2 and they have survived for 3 years.. not sure if that is a record... one is black and one was the good old fashioned 'gold' goldfish. I moved them from the window for up to six months and didn't clean the fish tank. The water they swam in for 3 months was so cloudy you couldnt see the lighter goldfish. I have now moved them back in front of a window and in 2 months he/she is getting his/her colour back. One word of warning, dont put it infront of a window that gets direct sunlight. My friend did that at the height of summer and came home to 'cooked fish'.

It will not hurt him if he turns white. It is just like people, sometimes they turn brown in the sun. Maybe he is turning white.

Maybe you need a water conditioner. I thimk there is a fish fungus called ick(?) if you ask at the pet store, there is a conditioner you can buy for your water.
