You can get seedy, gross hotels from like $30 a night. But if you want a great hotel in a great area from very cheap, like $70-80 a night, try the Imperial Palace. It's right in the heart of everything on the strip, and is a great place without the splendor and frills of many others.

I stayed at the Statosphere. It's at the very end of the strip so it's not nearly as expensive as the main casinos but you still get the experience of staying at a casino.
