Yes they were, l heard recently they were changing a lot of the city street names because many of them were related to the city's slave trade, one of them l think was Penny Lane, but there was a bit of controversy because the Beetles had a song about this, many people thought the names shouldn't be changed because it was like trying to cover up history, hope this helps.

yes, the liverpool maritime museum has a load of stuff relating back to the slave trade. I remember seeing the rings in the catacombs behind the pier head and in the old church just off the waterfront.
There is a big thing at the moment here about changing some of the street names as the slave trade had such an impact on the city that many of the slavers had streets named after them.
many argue that liverpool would not have been such a prosperous city if it werent for the slave trade. Thankfully liverpool is now a great place to live and it's being awarded 'capital of culture' status in 2008 for its rich ethnic diversity amongst its residents. I love it here!

yes slaves were in Liverpool.and slave were in England just not on mass like USA .there were slaves all over the world and specially in Europe.Liverpool actually had a major slavering port.in fact many white people in England has black descendants mainly because the salves were raped.Also some historians debate whether Liverpool's prosperity was due to the slave trade or other reasons.

Liverpool along with Bristol were two of the major slave ports. If your ancestors were slavers you would probably be living in a big country house today and be at least a lord.

Only a few were ever brought to Liverpool ,these were too be status symbols for very rich people and were dressed in silks and used as footmen or servants and even adopted into families as playmates for the owners children,None were ever chained up ,they would be hand picked for looks and taught English on the routes to the Americas and back,!,,all pre ordered not by auction,!

yes the city was built with the money that was made from the slave trade. its what liverpool can thank for becoming a major city.

yes drs advertised to usa and got girls young ones to baby sit drs kids apparently they sold the teen girl to india they recruit from canada as wekll big story was in paper abotu a 17 yr old they got her there false pretenses babysat their kids more and more kids came to this drs house teen girl got suspsiocous tried to leave they took her passport.. sold kids to india etc from england they sent ads to usa to canada underground slavery exists still and middle east as well they coem to nyc pay for ur way etc then ur history for wotever reasons porn fetish killings sex etc big bucks usually for that purpose those..

there were very few slaves that came to liverpool about 1.3 million were taken from africa to usa and tobacco was taken from usa to liverpool .please dont listen to old wives tales about slaves being chained up by the liver buildings its just rubbish .do your research !
