where do you live where prostitution is legal. Everywhere in the US except NEVADA prostitution is illegal!! Even in the state of Nevada it is STATE goverened and you must be licensed. I do believe it is goverend to the similar regulations in Germany and Holland!
The act of prostitution has been going on since the beginning of time and even if it's illegal MEN are going to seek out the forbidden!!

First you have to know that prostitution is not moral. The bible and other religion forbids it.And lets come to facts :Every normal human being on earth today knows or have heard about (HIV /AIDS)and other sexually transmitted diseases.Coupled with the circle of violence----people wanting to profit from poor prostitute(MAFIA).And when is legal every body can now see it as the quickest and lazy way to make a living, and therefore, would not consider the negative and psychological impact.Condoms if you do not know is not 100% safe. It can get broken some times. And plus there might be more missing persons. Finally, our body should be viewed as a temple. And lets live a life of dignity.

Prostitution is illegal. At least in most places. Why? To control the spread of HIV and STDs. Also, so the women don't end up getting raped or killed.

I would like to see prostitution legalized and safe house be set up for these ladies. It would cut down on number of youth who have turned to this noble profession as it would be only for woman aged 18 and over. It would probably help cut down on the STD/HIV infections that are running so high. It would cut down on number of sexual assaults on these ladies. And it would cut down on how much time is wasted by police arresting these ladies and their johns. Sure some ladies would still want to work independently and if they choose to do so and were walking the streets then arrest them as this is a concern in lots of neighbourhoods. Just my take on it.

I've thought about this and still can't figure out why anyone would pay for sex. There is always someone willing to do the act free of charge. I think if it were legal there would be alot more STD's. So I would have to say no. How can anyone get paid to sleep with any tom, dick, or harry? How could they do it morally let alone physically?

If not for Religion, It would be. It has been around for all ages.
As for legalizing it. I think Yes it should be. If a woman, or man, chooses to sell their bodies, and do it in a safe way, why is it wrong? Other countries allow it and have little problems with illegal activities around it. I love my country, but, in some respects, we are still 3rd world...

prostitution should be legal controlled and taxed. You cannot stop what people really want. Take it off the streets and into controlled areas. The Dutch have it right

actually that's been shown to be the case, Kalgoorlie in Western Australia is a mining city with brothels the law enforcement officers turn a blind eye to, and there are hardly any rapes recorded for some years... you will by no ability thoroughly stop rape as that's approximately administration and different themes that countless the unwell minded human beings have !!! )O(
