I had an email a few months ago that told me that people who wear black don't want to be noticed and that people who wore red were confident - all that sort of stuff.
I found it interesting because wearing a colour doesn't necessarily make it your favourite colour, does it?
If you really look at it, I think that colours do say a lot about a person, but I also think that your choice of colour will vary with your mood. One day wearing black is right - but the next day you might feel like wearing bright yellow! Does that make sense?

I love cornflour blue, then purple, then turquoise
These colours make me think of unusual, rare treasures like the sky before a storm or a peacock or a silk painting or beautiful eyes.

I don't know if fave colours say anything about people but I imagine they do. It makes sense when I think about the type of people who wear bright colours and those who prefer black, for example.

Gosh...a favorite color...but they're all so nice, y'know?

I think that favorite colors say nothing about a person unless they completely relate that color to something. No color is "good" or "bad". If there are no opposites to place on something or another, there is nothing to express. It's merely a neutral thing (this isn't a bad thing at all).

In art, colors are used to manipulate a mood...but this job is taken on more by the whole picture and the LINES--how it flows together or disunifies-- than the colors. There are art historians and viewers alike who would like to place a "bad mood" or a "good mood" (examples, people!) on a painting or picture, but the fact of the matter is that every color can take on any mood or no mood, making them all very neutral. It's how people relate that color to something that is that color that can make it their favorite color. Right now, I prefer green because I have an olive skin tone and it's nice to accentuate. All in all, all colors have their benefits. Vividness!

Hopefully this made sense. Sorry if it doesn't. 8 AM here. :)

Colours affect mood and, conversely, moods draw you towards certain colours.

Thus colour is often a factor when choosing clothing to elicit a response (red raises blood pressure in humans, thus people choose blues when going to court, or speaking at a businesses meeting because it creates a sense of trust and lowers blood pressure).

It is also a factor when choosing paint colours. Hospitals at one time used "eye-rest green" for it's neutral, relaxing effect. Prisons are also similarly painted in non aggressive colours. Guest rooms are often painted yellow because (although initially cheery) after a period of days causes people to become irritable. They will usually want to leave after 3 days.

Many people choose clothing colours to express their current mood. Black/goth looks expressed a deep, dark feeling, while bright or soft colours are playful. Neutrals are just that, for earthy non-material looks.

Many people have a favourite colour, due to memories evoked, or feelings produced when looking at the colour. I like green because it is a clean/fresh colour that reminds me of health and life.

Colour is such a complex subject and there are many books explaining the effects of colour. If you have an interest, I encourage you to explore the subject.

my favourite colours are sky blue and purple. blue because it is a very positive colour and hence, it sums up the type of person i am: down-to-earth, calm, good person and i like the appearance of it. purple because it is very bold, feminine and vibrant. although i don't mind guys who like purple or pink. it may imply in some way that they might be gay or whatever, but its obviously not always the case.

My favorite colors are black, navy blue, and burgundy, in that order.

I beleive that someone's favorite colors can say something about a person, like with mine, people may think that I'd be a depressed or very morbid person. And this is true; I tend to be a morbid thinker. But with some other people it can mean nothing at all. I guess it's one of the great mysteries of life.

Orange. I mean true orange, like the oranges on the trees in the streets of Sacramento. It's bright and cheerful, being rare, stands out.

But not for me to wear. It suits my skin tone like a hole in the head.
