What do you think is going on in the mind of an adult that makes them sexually abuse a child? I think this condition needs to be identified so a STOP to it is made like right now!

I know what you mean when you say this condition is hard to understand.
It's been identified, defined and researched. Various treatment options have been studied. Some say child sex abusers can be rehabilitated, others say not. Some say a behavior pattern leadig to child abuse develops over a number of years and can be stopped before crimes are committed, others say not.
You might want to look in the American Psychological Association website for some answers.

Unfortunately, in the legal system there is no way to arrest someone, or stop someone, who is a potential danger but not an obvious actual threat (in the sense of physical harm) to himself or others.
You cannot do a genetic screen or a psychological profile and say that so-and-so is a pedophile and must be imprisoned.
And as for mentally ill persons, they have closed all the asylums and sent the mentally ill back into the community. The theory is that the counties and cities would pick up the bill, but they haven't -- it's left up to the families. So the mentally ill are left on the street, homeless; or they are in prison.
You can't tell a pedophile by looking at him. They look just like you, and like your neighbor down the street who goes to church every Sunday.

As far as I can tell the main problem with people who abuse children is not any of the mental disorders that can be treated with drugs or talk therapy. Many people with mental illnesses, say depression, or panic attacks know that something is wrong with them. Other people, who hear voices, after you give them the right medicine, will be grateful they don't hear those voices any more.
People who want to have sex with children don't think that there is anything wrong with them or what they want to do. They are sociopaths. They want what they want and they don't care what it does to anybody else. They may fool themselves that the kid wants it too. Or they may try to fool you that it's good for the kid.
There is no good treatment right now for pedophilia. About the only that helps is "chemical castration" giving them drugs that dampen their sex drive, and groups that support them in staying away from kids. Nothing cures it.
Physical castration doesn't work. Many molestations are fondling or don't involve penetration, or involve penetration with an object.
The only thing left to try is permanent parole for these people. When they get out of prison, we put a bracelet on them like in house arrest and if they go close to a school or playground it beeps and the police come and they go back to prison.

No one will ever convince me that this is a condition and the people can't help themselves. They know very well its wrong and they need to be put away for it. These kind of people do not belong in society. They need to be locked away for good. It's already been proved time and again they can't be rehabilitated. They are stealing someones childhood away from them. Nothing is more important than a period of childhood before entering into this adult world.

What do you think is going on in the mind of an adult that makes them sexually abuse a child? Well, it could be due to his past similar experiences as a child perhaps. It could be due to low sel-esteem. Lastly, he could be suffering from sadism ( a type of psychological deviancy) wherein a person obtains sexual gratification in the act of harming/ inducing pain to others. Alrighty?

Enlightened societies do not sanction murder by the State any more than they would permit individuals to do it. Society has an obligation to care for the mentally ill and protect the rest of us from them and that includes child-molesters. The comments here about genetic research are shocking. But I suppose these people would also be in favour of genetic "cures" for being homosexual, being black or being a Jew. The downward spiral continues...

There are as many reasons as there are child molesters. Every one is different. They're all evil.
Enlightened people don't let the State impose death, true. Enlightened people do it themselves. Go back to public hangings after a fair, just, and timely trial.

It is my opinion that these people are mentally ill. After all no normal human being would have such a perverted mind. This is why they cannot be allowed to be free in a civilized society.

Great Question. With DNA evidence and found guilty by a court of law it is automatic "Death". Hell, I'll be so nice as to give them a choice...firing squad or hanging.

l think l heard scientists were trying to do a study into faulty genes, this could possibly be a reason.
