The answer is yes and no. If they have a patient who suffers from one of these Muslim made sins, he must use them for the healing process. With the damage inflicted by these three beliefs, he sees a lot of realism.

Hmmm...I am studying Psychology and have also studied astrology in the past. To me, there is so much that is unknown about astrology that it is very difficult to say if there is any merit to it or not. It is at best an infant science and at worst bull pucky.

There is a Psychologist overseas, Liz Greene who has done some astrology work, so not all of them dismiss it.

In my classes I have been taught not to believe in it.

I think these things give hope to people who are searching for an identity. We all have to decide who we are and Identity crisis, and it's resolution are what people are looking for in these pseudosciences. So is it "bunk", no. It can be a valuable tool for self-discovery. But I think that in some circumstances these things can lead people astray, make them believe they are hearing spirits talking to them when in fact it is only their own thoughts and confusion that are best handled another way.

IMHO

Most reasonable people would disregard all that stuff as bunk, let alone psychiatrists with science degrees?
