When I have to convert .2rec, to a/b form I can divide 2 by 9, so its 2/9. Its true for .3rec, .4rec... up to .8. But how to convert .9recurring into a/b form. can anybody help?

9/9 0.9 recurring is the same as 1 as the number of 9's tend to infinite. On your pocket calculator (if it is old) 1/9 * 9 gives 0.99999 on the more modern ones it equals 1

let x=0.999999999....
multiply both sides by 10
10x=9.9999999999....
then subtract the first equation from second equation
therefore 9x=9
x=9/9=1
IT IS NOT EQUAL TO 1 BUT TENDS TO 1

yeah, i too get ur point, since 9/9 would mean 1 which is surely not equal to .9 recurring. anyways, i dont think there is a solution to this problem. if there is, i will be sure to check it out here

It does not exist. It is always equal to 1.

i assume you are talking about fractions, if that is the case, 0.9999.... (infinity) is 3/3 or 1 whole...
