Your state of mind and what is reality are two different things. Reality is whats real despite how you may view it or see it. Like you're pretty high right now, but in reality the walls aren't moving. Seeing colors yet?

If you're talking about the philosophy of the Matrix, I'm not going to bother answering that aspect of the answer because it's too dualistic and abstract to be plausible.

However I will answer the second aspect of the question. Reality is what we make of it, in that ultimately our level of optimism is what determines our actions. If one thinks humans are evil in the long run, they are likely to lead a life dedicated to building defense mechanisms. If one is more hopeful of humanity, they are likely to be extroverts. If one thinks they will have no success in life, that will likely be the result. So, yes reality does depend on the state of your mind to a certain extent. Obviously if you believe time is not valid, time won't stop. If you believe you can fly or dodge bullets, obviously that won't happen. However if you stick to things you have control over, reality will depend on your state of mind since your mind directs most of your actions.

I don't think so. Reality is something that you experience and feel. If it is just a state of mind, you can choose to turn things into something that you please. Reality, on the other hand, can not be changed unless you strive hard to modify it.

A person with mental disorders sees their reality differently than you or I...
