Because landing on the moon was the goal of the race to space in the 60', and after USA achieved that, there was no more interest to spend a HUGE lot of money to do it for other nations. The scientific rewards appeared not so valuables for Soviet Union (the unique with the technology similar to USA).
Now China plans a moon landing in a few years. Stay tuned.

Still not sure if the USA ever did it.Couldn't they have filmed it better instead of that grainy shitty film footage they showed.Six moon landings would be a tough secret to keep if they faked it.I hope China goes and films it in Hi-Deff. They could make there money back showing it in I max or3D movie theaters ...forever skeptical

I read in a book that the reason no one has gone back to the moon is b/c it's been hollowed out by an alien civilization and they're using it as a base to monitor Earth! The book states our moon-walkers were told not to come back! A US Astronaut was quoted as saying as much during a briefing at NASA. His comments were published in both Time and Space and Technology magazines. NASA reported, after withholding the info from the public for quite some time, that when the discarded rocket booster from the LEM was sent back to the moon, to test seismic devices, the impact caused the moon to reverberate .. like a bell! This reverberation lasted for some minutes! The seismic devices were placed 100 km apart. The scientists said they were all very surprised by this result. Something they didn't plan for, nor were they prepared to hear. They didn't know what to make of this discovery.

(The U.S. is on their way back.) I often wondered about that too. Why didn't someone ever go back? It was only right that the U.S. get there first. The U.S. represents ALL nationalities living as one. Yes, there are still problems, but when it comes down to the nut-cuttin' , we true Americans stick together. We live together like no other country.(good question, I'm going to rate it!)

No nations, including the United States, currently have the hardware (..boosters, life-support modules, lunar landers, etc.,.) necessary for a manned trip to the moon. After the six American manned lunar missions, public interest dropped off significantly, and funding for further missions wasn't granted by the US government.
