The defrost mode is always on, sending cold air in summer in the direction of the windshield rather than out the center dashboard vent. The side vents are ok.
Condensation forming on windshield as a result.
Is it a big job to fix and about what does it cost if I can't do it myself.
Thanks

Your vent system is Vacuum operated and the defrost setting is the default position.
Check the vacuum lines for leaks / breaks / disconnected lines. Check the main vacuum lines in the engine compartment and under the dash. There is a likely a vacuum canister located somewhere under the hood, it may be shaped like a large juice can or a sphere the size of a large grapefruit, it will have vacuum lines attached to it, check that the lines are OK and that you have vacuum to the canister.

Most systems default to defrost when vacuum supply to the heater flaps fails. Look about under the hood on the left side of the fire wall is a vacuum operated brake booster and along the vacuum tubing for cracked fallen off tube Mercedes Benz uses translucent plastic tubing and one way valves and rubber tubing to connect valves to tubes. Either that is the problem or the new radio you had put in the guys did not plug onto the heater control the tube for vacuum.
