At over 3.7 million square miles (over 9.6 million km²), the PRC is the third or fourth largest country by total area. It is also the world's most populous nation, with over 1.3 billion people, about 20% of the world's population, majority of whom are classified as Han Chinese ethnic group.

I thought it was more than that - but if the CIA say it's 1.3 billion - they could be right.... LOL
Interesting to note that they are only allowed to have 1 child in China - yet over 20% of the population are children. Only 7.7% are over 65 years old.
That site in China is cool - you can watch the counter - and see the population going up - probably about extra 200 while I've been answering this question!

Just over a Billion - - - say a Billion plus twenty million - - - even with a one child policy it will be two billion by the year 2025 - - - and there are mostly likely close to another Billion scattered across the globe though officially most have been fully assimilated into the culture of those countries - - - peace.
