Doug Gilmour and the Maple Leafs continue to work towards a long-anticipated reunion that will see the former captain return to the fold as an adviser to general manager John Ferguson. An announcement is expected in advance of next weekend's rookie tournament.

You dont re-sign with a team when you are given a management job, Its just a job.

Gilmour has been given the unofficial role of team consultant under John Ferguson Jr. This allows Gilmour to work with head office, and at the same time, help the Leafs draft and nurture their prospects.

Leafs plan to announce this before training camp officially begins.

Raycroft! heavily, nonetheless...the above suggestion approximately going for classics is nice. Gilmour and Clark will continuously be good leafs jerseys to have. whether...whether Sundin does retire (probably even after this season), his call would be favourite for a protracted time to come back, so a Sundin jersey won't possibly exchange into previous. in case you have chose somebody who's certainly going to proceed to be aLleaf for a whilst, you would be able to desire to %. Kaberle or Tucker, considering the fact that neither of them is possibly to waive their no commerce clauses any time quickly. Or Steen, who in simple terms signed a clean settlement and is seems to be nicely enjoyed adequate by the gang that they possibly won't commerce him.

I doubt it, but there is a voice telling me it may be a Leafs return to bonehead signings. What would he be good for?? Maybe 6 minutes a game? Take a face-off, lip off to someone then hide behind Belack?
His moment in the sun has passed and that's exactly what the leafs should do...pass.
