If you are a college graduate then you should be fine. The answer to this question really depends on what type of work you want to be doing. Are you willing to take an entry level position? Being a "housewife" can have helped you cultivate many skills that employers look for such as time management, scheduling, organizational skills, etc.

A college degree is an excellent start...but insufficient these days. Are you current in your discipline? Have you done any community work (at Church, PTA) and have you held any leadership position? You should highlight any activity that demonstrates your leadership, management ability independent if you were paid or not. I will also recommend (if you have not done so already) to subscribe to any magazine, trade journal associated with your discipline area. Lastly, do not be afraid to start at the bottom of the ladder...with good work ethic, networking abilities and smarts you will catch up to your contemporaries in no time at all.
Best wishes.

An employer will look at your education, but many will also realize that if you've been running a household and raising children, you've gained many skills that are applicable to almost any job. Before an interview, you should think about how you're going to present those skills like the ability to plan, multiprocess, time management, etc.
Good luck.

All depends..
running an HOUSEHOLD efficiently requires more skills that most people will ever think of.
in adition to the scholastic qualifications, a reference from a bank, and other pilars of society, like the local priest, etc will allow tha applicant to get to first base, and once the resume its check , if the job suit the applicant, you may be surprised that somewhere will offert a job.
