As a trainee, you are there to learn the systems that are implemented by the company.
Believe one thing.
A company has gone through many processes to arrive at a system that best suits the needs of the company.
If a weakness surfaces someone in management will recognize it and initiate improvements.

At lower level management perform your duties with excellency. If you recognize theft, loopholes for shortages in inventory, (if applicable), a correctable cause of lost sales, etc., these are things that can be discussed with your supervisor. Be certain that you have proof, not some "cockamania" idea.

Be very careful of any criticism of management decisions. They have all the facts to make decisions. You are not privy to all those facts.
If you recognize any of the above, it will be corrected and the bottom line will reflect it.

On one of my first jobs, trainee, with responsibility, I was able to reduce "shortages" for a company by 1% in my first year.
1% net profit on $1,000,000.00=$10,000.00. I earned $1,900.00 per year. A long time ago.

Theft, mis-handled inventory, receiving errors, and a few clerical errors were some causes.

I found these same causes throughout my career and in my own business.
One cannot spend time poking around looking for these. Just be aware at all times.

Management is always aware of these things but can't spend "all their" time looking.

Bear in mind that in retail stores, theft can only be controlled. The cost to detect 100% of theft exceeds the savings, therefore a minimal amount is acceptable as an operating expense.

I would be careful of that situation if I were you! That is the managers job all the way, and any suggestion you make will be used and you will never get credit for any of your suggestions. If it was me I wouldn't do the bums job for them. Any suggestions you make, in which turns out to be a bad idea, (you can bet) you will get credit for it. This does not sound like a very good situation for a young person that is bright and just starting out to be in. Lay low, do your job, and keep your ear to the ground, and the true colors of this person will come to surface soon enough. Good Luck!

As a trainee, it is pretentious to come in to any job with "improvements" on your mind, as if there is something wrong with the place.
n America, there is no faster way to becoming ostracized at a place of employment than to take on such a thought process.

do you work at Eternit?

anyways whereever you work,
it depends at which department you are.
you didn't mention.

- perhaps you could research the internet to find a new market for your company, shipping for Africa for example.
- or you could check other websites of similar international companies and see what they are offering more.
- suggest a new improved professional website (if there isn't one yet, it costs but the benifits are later)
