Pay as you go what ..... Mobile Phones, Travel tickets (Oyster) .... try giving some useful information so people can help.

EDIT

OK, mobile phones.....................

It's not worth bothering for one week if you would need to buy a phone that will operate on UK wave lengths.

If you already have a phone that works on UK wave lengths then go to a mobile phone shop (many newsagents, chemists supermarkets etc will also have sim cards for sale) and simply buy a SIM card, you can then top it up whenever you need credit to make calls.

One thing to add though, this is only really worth while doing this if you are going to be making calls to other UK numbers, if you will be phoning foreign numbers you might as well keep using your current mobile set up, if you have one.

Hi! I studied in London for three months last year. We were all given mobile phones for the semester and used the pay-as-you-go (and you get "top-up cards" so if you run out of money, you can "top it up"). It was very convienent, especially the text messaging because it was cheaper, so if one of us in our group was lost trying to find the theatre for that night or if we wanted to get together and meet for dinner or whatever.

Now, since you're only going for a week, I don't know if you need to get a pay-as-you-go phone. Are you planning to call UK numbers when you're over there? Or call back home? If it's the latter, my suggestion would be to get a international phone card to call back home.

I gess you are talking about Pay as you go cell phone!

There are so many to choose form, there best thing to do would be when you get to london, go in to any good phone shop like phone 4 u, tell them what you need, and they will help you pick a pacage that sutes you best.
