because he wished to hear it long before she said it...so he'll be more than willing to think she's telling the truth when she actually does say it.

men say what they mean.
they expect women to do the same.
if we say "it's okay" even when it's not, they will dismiss the issue to never bring it up again, while the woman is stewing in anger for the next 3 years. i have learned to stop saying this when i don't mean it. if you don't say anything at all it will be much more effective, giving him the opportunity to ask questions about how you feel. or you could choose to tell him in a nonconfrontational tone. if you don't know how to approach the subject, try to think of an analogy and give him an example of how you are feeling.

Because its what you say!!! We have know reason to think you would lie to us. If it is not what you mean do not say it!!! Don't you think there are enough mind games out there that have to be dealt with daily. Say what you mean. I'm OK with the differences between men and women. In fact most of the time I embrace them. But for peace of mind for yourself and your love ones. Speak clearly!!! if you want to be understood say things that people can understand. NOT A COMPLICATED CONCEPT!!!
