can anybody help me regarding the topic that weather mathematics should be optional in school level? as v hav set a program on tachers day so this is the debate topic so i need ur help n v r for the motion that maths should b optional so any kind person who is interested in helping me i ll b very thankful to him/her plz plz plz plz plz hepl me

i need 1 more help frm u all n i.e. tell me som programs wich v can keep for teachers day like v hav already kept imitation of teachers, then debate, then opera, then song by the students, can u all help me more

any debate has two aspect,one is its merit and other is demerit
now you should follow these steps in debate on your subject
if you favor the motion- what is math,why it is so difficult,why it be a optional,merits of making it optional,how will it help students,how math has made made many student disinterested in their studies.how can we do without math in our life,and in last you add some suggestion,.

if you are against it-follow same- what is math,utility of math in one's life,demerits of not studying math,how can we make math more interesting,and in last add your suggestion

Math should not be optional. Neither should English. Neither should science. These are basic subjects of study that provide students with a basis of understanding the world. Math is typically required from elementary school to high school. I think you'd be hard pressed to debate that mathematics should be optional and support that premise because math is an every day skill--try balancing your checkbook without it, try measuring something without it, try obtaining a job with out it (or writing well or understanding basic science).

if you're taking the stance that too much emphasis is placed on math classes, try illustrating the lack of day-to-day application for higher level mathematics, such as trig and calc. Make a parrallel between electives offered in other areas, such as sports, and possible electives in place of standardized math classes. Of course, kids are still probably gunna have to take gym, but they shouldn't all be forced to play on the football team. You can make a similar argument for math classes.

Due to the availability of handheld calculators and their capabilities, math shouldn't be mandatory, but using the calculators would.
