Not a realistic question. There really is no answer for it.

Before wondering if God exists (or not), no matter what other people
say, or what we have been learned about religion, we should ask:
What IS God?; we should try to define this notion--which has been
debated, for thousands of years, by countless philosophers, monks,
writers, scientists, artists...
Although our common (materialist) thinking is not the most appropriate
way for going thouroughly into this notion, we have to use it--at least
for eliminating from our minds what we have been learned by others.
And, as the Bible says, we must become like children.
First of all, we should observe that we cannot create something, without
taking, from the surrounding world, what we need (i.e., "things" which
have been already created).
So, we should think to our God, as to a Creator. A wise Creator--which
gave us the Laws--discovered, partially, by the scientists.
We are also creatures--"copies after His Face". Therefore, if we have
"imagination", and we are creatures, it is obvious that it has to exist a
Creator (God, Allah, Brahma, ...).
Man cannot create itself! We aren' able able to "create" not even a grain
of grass...

If God is in the imagination, then this mean that God might either exist in imagination and reality or might exist only in imagination.
If God exist in reality too, then He would be greater than a God existing only in the imagination. But God (by definition) is the GREATEST Being ever; therefore the concept of God CAN NOT BUT EXIST IN REALITY and in mind (or imagination).

You are right, if you are not told about something then you have no knowledge of it if you don`t know, you don`t know. If I am being told something I will listen but decide for myself whether what I am being told has any credence, just like the answers on these pages, there will be different opinions, which ones you choose to take notice of is your choice. What is in your imagination is only in yours. Don`t let anybody TELL you what you should think.
If in a school playground , a ball strikes you in the back of the head, and someone says to you `he did it` pointing to a young lad, would you believe them?, without question?

Quite frankly, I believe in seeing God's image in everyday object around me. Whether it's child's simile or a bumble bee flying one flower to next, God's existance can be everywhere if one looks hard enough. If Native Americans' respect for nature and everything that hangs in balance, I would say they have found God through their own way. They may not have weekly worship like other religions, but they do walk in His light. Therefore, my answer is no, if I am truly enlightened, I believe I would have found God if I live my whole life on a deserted island.

God is real, maybe he's your best friend, I know that you expect him to talk to you, to tell you why the world is as it is. All of us want to know these things, but I know that God exists. He has helped me through things that no one could, He gave me faith in something, He gave me a purpose. When you go in to a church and really let God in you can feel him yourself, I know I have if only a little time when I was in the church. All sciences tries to convince you that the world simply is but I don't believe this and neither should you. This is God's ultimate test: to test you to see if you are a true believer or do you believe in machines and men. Believe in Him for He will show himself to us soon

My teachers did not teach me about God. I went to a Catholic school but we were not taught about God, just about his beliefs. I make up my own mind, because I look at it like this, if there is a God, then why do bad things happen? Why is there war? Why do babies have to die? Why do good people get hurt and killed? And if there is a God, then why the hell is Blair still PM?!

There nothing wrong with accepting God. I don't shout at people for accepting Santa Claus or invisible friends so I don't think it would be fair to treat God people any different, but at least do some background reading on the history of your religion or religion in general before you start claiming things to be facts.

God is most definately NOT just in your imagination. He is a living God, come to earth in the form of Jesus Christ who died and rose again and appeared to many. He is alive today.
Think about the wind - you can't see it, but know and experience its affects. It's like this with God - can't see Him, but can know Him through the Bible and even relate to Him as a friend and saviour. You can experience Him by seeing what He does: 1000's are still healed by Him, know that He answers prayer and see His transforming work in their lives. There's no trick to it - try Him for yourself!

Yes, God is in our imaginations - but don't assume imagination is equal to fabrication...we form a vision in our mind's eye about who or what God is and what God means to us. God is real even if we've never laid eyes on him, just as love, hate, fear, etc., are all real. They may not be tangible, but they exist.
Verb
to imagine (third-person singular simple present imagines, present participle imagining, simple past imagined, past participle imagined)
Transitive:
To form a mental image of something.
To conjecture.
Intransitive:
To use ones imagination.
To make a guess or conjecture.

i think these questions about God and religion are normal..but you should not try to find the answers ..as long as bad things and good things happen, they happen for a reason...there is an order in this world..and this order is not accidental..so there must be someone who takes care of us...
but i can't convince you that God exists as long as you don't believe this...so it depends on you...
