Darwin's theory of evolution shows that living 'beings' are influenced by their environs and thusly, adapt. As sentient beings, we try to adapt our personal environs to our likes & dislikes. If, as a group, we could come up with some guidelines as to where, or what we want to evolve into, we could really map our general future.
The immediate problem is that between T V, insurance companies, and misguided gov'ts, the road we're traveling leads to more of the same bogfog that muffles us now. I'm sure there are organizations out there pushing their agendas, but what would work is a grassroots consenus on the 'Voyage of Humanity'. How can this happen?

This is a Big Idea and I admire you for daring to share it with us on Y!Answers. You're talking about the accumulation and use of genuine wisdom (as opposed to simple technological prowess).

I think that while we're figuring out what we want to become, we also have to understand what we _don't_ want, and why. We have to teach our children why we've set them on this path, and how to keep to it; and if others attempt to stop us or impose their agendas, we have to be prepared to fight with every weapon at our disposal.

This will mean defying government and learning to get along without television and maybe without insurance. Among other things.

You must admit that's a frightening prospect. People will need some education before it can begin to to take hold.

It sounds tome that you are well versed in this topic so I will try not to waste your time with my answer.
Part of human evolution is the drive with in us to control. The ironic point here is the diversity of people allows for so much difference that control is impossible. So in my opinion we have limited control in our circle of influence which helps define our destiny. and no control of the enviorment surrounding our limited control. Example, getting a masters degree in transportation management only to get hit by a bus. We do how ever have the ability to plan, This is a powerful tool we use to plot destiny and should be flexible enough to include uncontrollable variations. Continue the Voyage but prepare for some storms.
