My wife is 32 years old. She has been batteling Ulcerative Colitis for about 6 months. Her flare ups are now under control with medications. But in the last month she has been having a problem with very low blood pressure this morning it was 82/48. This problem has caused her to be dizzy, faint. We have talked to the doctor about it. But he can't give us a reason for her sudden low blood pressure. We know it is not her medications, because we have done through research on them. She eats healthy, and works out at least 3 days a week. But now her blood pressure problem is keeping her from doing a lot of things for fear of passing out. Our family and friends have been very helpful in making sure she is not alone. We talked to a nurse and the only thing she could tell us was to increase her salt intake and fluids. We have spoken to her doctor about it. But he can't give us a reason for this problem, or any answers as to what we can do. Can anyone please tell me what we might be able to do?

There has to be an under lying cause for your wife's sudden low blood pressure. If her current doctor is not investigating it. You should check with another doctor. She could have some serious complications if her blood pressure gets to low. The only thing I know that might help is.A dietary supplement called Thermotabs. most pharmacies carry it. It is usually used for Chronic fatigue, muscle cramps or heat prostration. But it will help raise her blood pressure because it is Pure Sodium and Potassium. Also drinking Gatorade should help. It also has the Sodium and Potassium. But these are only temporary solutions. Please do look for another Doctor who will take this more seriously. I hope this helps. good luck, and God bless her.

Actually, I don't know what to do about low blood pressure. But when my mother had high Blood Pressure, I suggested her to do babysitting for one child. That idea somehow came to my mind. Children are god's gift to man and they make you happy. When you look at a small child, that feeling of happiness automatically comes to the person. After babysitting, my mom's BP was normal.... I am not kidding.....It really happened.... You can also try it.....perhaps it might help you....

I can't help with you with what to do to fix the problem or what is causing, but I can advise you to look for another doctor. Look for a specialist (cardiovascular specialist). If necessary change doctors. Some doctors are not as good as others and fortunately living in US we do have the right to change doctors (aka doctor shop) to find one who is willing to treat the conditions we are coming up with. She needs to get help with this problem because it has affected her life. Ask friends and neighbors who their doctors are and get names and phone numbers. I can give you names of good doctors here in Cincinnati, OH area.

Cats are evil and will suck the life force out of you thus lowering blood pressure. Just kidding I love cats. (but they can be evil) Mine used to run around the house and pull herself under the bedroom door while i was sleeping, run across my head, and pull itself back under the door. This would happen about every 20 minutes for 2-3 hours.

There has to be an underlying cause - check with a doctor and get a second opinion if you need to.
