Hard to really say....personally, I want to believe love is not just sex and some type of emotional security.

I want to believe a person can care enough about someone else that they would do anything possible for them.

I want to believe that you can find such a person, if you look long and hard enough, and don't settle for just anyone who comes along.

I guess I may be an incurable romantic of sorts....

Hey, man. . . Love is "on" our imagination. .
there is no love, it is just sex and emotional security through the sex activity. You love your Mom and Dad, don't you, but you do not have sex with them, I hope not. So, no I do not think it is your imagination, and love is just "emotional security" through the sex activity. You are babbling and go to bed, it is late. Love is Love. When you love a partner, you want to have sex. When you lust after someone, and horny, then it is just animal instincts for self gratification. Call it what it is. You want sex.

There is a scientific explanation for the chemical reactions with in ourselves that covers cause of feelings of what we call love. There have been 1000's of books ,poems and stories covering the topic. There are even experts in the field of love and love making. But in my modest opinion it doesn't matter how, why, or what causes us to feel the way we do about certain people, to me experiencing it is something all humans should strive to achieve. whether is was a whirl wind fling that ended painfully or 60 year anniversary celebration there is no feeling more powerful or fullfilling. One last thing, It will come to you easier if you don't analyze it to closely. And to be totally honest with you. My emotional security doesn't come from sex, it comes from me being comfortable with myself and confident in my relationships.

Love is all in our imagination. What is love? Everybody has different ideas of what it is, so it must be. I don't think you need sex to feel secure though. You can love somebody without needing to have sex with them.

i have no true opinion on the matter, but I cont think it really matters. What does it matter if "true love" really exists - it means different things to different people, so there is no way to measure it or to prove it. what i do believe is that all that matters is that people feel secure and happy, which are basic human emotions that need to be satisfied. if they choose to attach the work "love" to this feeling, then good for them, and if they choose not to attach that label, that's fine too. i hope that makes sense :)

an interesting question put badly.. why not just ask people to define love, everyone comes up with a load of different nonsense, love can be seen best, between a mother and child, base all your assumptions around this relationship, in which sex is not the norm..

I have no doubt that love exists. My wife & I have a very unique love...we are best friends and partners in life. Sex is great but there's more to love than sex.

No, love is true, you can have sex with anyone but it would be pretty disgusting if you didn't love the other person. Can you imagine french snogging someone you couldn't stand?? love is real. Romance is imaginary.

WHAT are you talking about? If there is no Love then what are the feelings that we have for our Family members such as Parents, Grandparents, Siblings, etc. you have sex with NONE of these people, so then how would you explain those feelings?
