NO, there are no free schools in America. Unfortunately some people think public schools are free, but they are very wrong.
People must pay a property tax on their homes and businesses, including landlords who collect rents from those living in apartments. The major share of these taxes are used to pay the cost of our schools and teachers. Parents must also pay for books, lunches, transportation and other extra-curricular activities. There is however one exception.
If you are part of a family receiving government assistance which
includes rent subsidy, food stamps, free books, lunches, and busing as well as dental and medical insurance, then, YES there are free schools for some.

All of our public schools are free. If you want a "good " school, go to a good area/district of any city ( a wealthier area) even if you live in an apartment. The fees are very minimal because the government pays for all schools. Only books i believe, oh and for lunches, low income families get them for free for their children.
