Sometimes the hate feeling appears to be satisfying but it's false because it accomplishes nothing except maybe lets out some internal emotion. It's a destructive force if manifested externally.
Luckily I managed to mostly overcome it by just disliking and putting that offending person (to my perception) into a neutral gray zone. In this zone they're in limbo and I'm aloof toward them.

Hate is a very destructive emotion and really not worth the energy. I may dislike someone intensely, but never hate. In any case I try to avoid negative emotions as best I can - no future in it! Go well, and God Bless!

sometimes I feel sad because I do not wish to have such a negative feeling. I am 71 and have hated only a couple times and it does, as someone said, drain energy from me, makes me sad, and I wish I could make it go away.

Hate? That's a pretty strong word. "dislike" very much----repulsion at their face, speech. Ah, sort of like watching Bush on TV. There. How's that?
