I would say it was the lack of available transmitters in your area rather than your telly having an adversion to that particular channel.

try getting a free view box u can get them for around£30 i can't get channel 5 be i can with the box

Have you tried Freeview ? or it is free to view on satellite no subscription required

try talking to him, tell him about it, tell him how much you like this channel and ask him to change his mind and dont forget to say please and thank you and if this doesnt work tell him you are about to give him a re-programming with rether a large axe this would do it i think
