hi ,i think u have asked a great question . i think it forms due to evaporation , condensation , percipitation, chemical reactions physical , property and most importent due to this peculiar nature

There is already dust in close room,it may be formed by the presence of people inhaling & children things.

If you have a central heat and air system, it is pulled from room to room through the returns and the air ducts.

I know this problem, it drives me CRAZY. I have walnut furniture and it shows like mad.

I definitely sympathize..

dust is everywhere even in enclosed space as they can slip thru the door/windows openings. also they are almost weightless so able to fly so long as there is wind.
