.Currently this is one of my favourite sites, it depends on whether you enjoy visiting it and get pleasure from you.
Yahoo is my personal favourite for layout and style. It does what it is expected to do on the tin.
If it's for sales and marketing it, should entertain inspire and inform and ideally convert the customer on the first visit, either by selling product or getting contact details for follow up
There is no best in my opinion but there are many best in class websites, maybe be more specific in another question?

boring choice but it has to be bbc.co.uk - the volume of free content, games, news, audio and video, info etc plus the most user friendly design of any website in the world - worth the licence fee alone

goggle earth going on holiday zoom in to your hotel. see your own house .
look at famous places ,grand canyon,Sydney harbour bridge etc
