you could change who you hang out with coz their attitude does wear on you. But if these people are aquaintances you could ask "
how would you do it better?" let them express themselves a bit coz it would make them feel more important.
Or could they be seeking praises from you? sometimes this is the case.
Jealous people have self esteem problems coz i used to be one.

An expression that I have found to be VERY TRUE is "misery loves company". When someone is down about something or dissatisfied or is going through a hard time they feel better when they bring others down with them. It actually pleases some people to just be able to plant the idea in your head that ther is something wrong with you or your life.
I married a man who is my absolute best friend and we are very happy together. I have a friend who is my age and has never been in a secure, loving relationship. Even the guys she's been with for a number of years are guys who come in to her life, accuse her of a hundred different thing, abandon her and then later she takes them back. She can never be w/o a man and so as soon as she meets someone she moves them into her house!
She is ALWAYS nit-picking about what she thinks my husband and I should do differently or how she thinks our marriage is weird because we "allow" each other to go out with friends w/o the other tagging along...or whatever.
I know it wears on you when they make their comments to you, but just remember it's THEIR problem. Maybe when they say something snippy and you know they're just envious, respond to them with pity, hopefully they'll get the message that they are wasting THEIR life being catty toward you.
Good luck!

Jealousy is one trait that has bothered and brought about the downfall of many.
It is common to have people who are jealous of your partner, your house, your job, your car, your laugh, your hair, your smile, your pet cat, your holiday photos...in other words anything that you possess or will possess in the future.
Evidently you would not let these things bother you or let them go just because someone is jealous of your superior choice, taste, destiny, right?
So the best way to go about it is to completely ignore a comment aimed with jealousy rather than letting it affect you at all. And it would be prudent to make a mental note of such people - they don't know the meaning of live and let live, something you seem to be a great advocate of. So you should mingle with more of your kind....

Jealously is merely insecurity. I am not a jealous person, but jealous people seem to be drawn to me. I don't confront them. I eliminate them from my circle. I refuse to be weighed down by other peoples baggage!

I can't tell you why some people are like that. Some seem to get their jollies trying to break up couples and wreck things that you've worked long and hard to build. Just be yourself, try to "keep it nice" toward them and watch your back.
