Don't get me wrong, I love this show to death but....
I'm a bit confused about it since i'm really new to korean. Is it set up? Why are there mostly big celebrities on it? Do they really want to fall in love or are just paid to be there? Are they paid? Do they go on dates after the show? Do any of them really fall for eachother or is it an act? Why do the same celebs keep coming back if they were a perfect couple with someone in the last show?

I've watched it with my mom and my best guess is that they're just have innocent fun. Dating and the whole idea of dealing with the opposite sex is still pretty "innocent" in Korea, and celebrities, while adored, are not gods. Most are very clean cut and aware of the importance of how the public views them. There's still a lot of honor and politeness in the culture, and their celebrities also must abide by these cultural norms.
As for if the "perfect couple" comes back for the next show...sorry, I don't know b/c I've watch them out of sequence.

All Dating Shows involving celebrities are paid. Even if they werent the celebrities would still be paid for appearing. That's how they make a living.
