I'm American, my opinion sure doesn't count but I'll give it anyway. See I just did! Do you or anyone else care? no! Especially not Cheney or Rumsfield.

The time when the US cared about the opinions of its citizens is long gone. The people controlling the US do not really care if you vote Republicans or Democrats into "power.?"
Things would change if Americans got angry enough to start a third party with an honest mandate to return the control of the country to its citizens.

I think my opinion's important, but judging by the low number of people who vote, I'd say there's many people who don't even have an opinion.
Like most other people, politicians don't care to much about the opinions of people they've never met. What politicians do care about is the opinions of people as a group -- they need the majority to vote for them in order to remain in office.

They do, and as long as the formerly "silent majority" shout their heads off, abusing anybody who cares for civil liberties as a "Liberal" -without anybody ever pointing out that whoever coined that as an insult for people with a civil rights agenda was an uneducated moron in the first place- and are taken seriously, the voice of reason won't count. I'd bet your next elections are going to prove that.

As an individual probably not. As an electrified group more. As a nation hell yes. Or we will go and scream off with his head! Then watch their heads roll by.
So to answer your question, if I had the power to centralize a group and sway a nation hell yeah my opinion counts but if I am on the fringe somewhere probably not. But at least to this army of one it does.

Yes I do. Rightfully so. I vote.
Selfish leaders are a global problem and not something left to Americans.

There was a time when our opinions were deemed important, but with the advent of the present Bush mentality:
"So they don't like it, so what are they going to do about it. I'm the decider, their not."
