do it yourself, it is very easy , get a vent cleaning brush from Home Depot or Lowes or even your local hardware store, less than $10.00. if it is a short run , insert brush at vent exit ,push -pull back and forth several times turn on dryer and your done! for a long run take vent pipes apart and do one section at a time.

If you have a furnace, the furnace repairman can do it. The vent is just another duct.
Any body who can us a screw driver should be able to do it too. You may have to move the drier out to get at the connection in back. Usually there are screws or a band clamp to undo vent from the drier. Slide the vent off and then just reach in and pull out all the lint.
Sometimes if the vent is plastic, it fall apart when you clean it. You can get a new one at hardware stores or Home Depot. When done it just slides back on and you redo the screws!
I usually do it myself and now that you mention it is probably time to do it again.
Good Luck!

I totally agree with Curious in Alabam! This is something that you can easily do yourself. Having a repair person come out to the house will cost you, probably, $40 just to come in the house.
Remove the dryer hose, clean out the lint from behind the dryer and from inside the hose. Put the hose back on the dryer, tighten the clamps. And you're good to go.

it's a very simple operation that you can do yourself. it would save you a lot of money. simply pull your dryer out from the wall, disconnect the vent hose/ pipe and remove the lint, etc. from it. reattach the hose/ pipe and push the dryer back to the wall.
it's done and you didn't have to pay for it.

If you can't find a dedicated vent cleaner, try a chimney cleaning service.

then reverse back and suck out any remnants that are left.
It works!
