I am a grown black female.

adopted and raised by whites.

I am not a racist.

I've had friends of all races throughout my life.

I have a stronger preference for black males.

Black males have been the only type of males to want to court me.

SOME people will make it an issue for you. It's really no different than seeking guys that are Baptist, are left-handed, or like to play poker. Whatever you find attractive in a guy is what matters.

Anyone who tells you any different can go pound sand.

Good luck in your search! : )

Maybe i don't have all the info but that doesn't seem racist to me.

I have a cousin who has only ever dated black men (we are hispanic). She married a black man and when they broke up and she started dating again she has only dated black men. I think it's just who "does it for you", you know? She evidently has always been attracted to them and they to her.

I, myself, have never dated a blond or a redhead. Does that make me prejudiced? I've just never met a man with blond or red hair that i was attracted to. I also prefer men who are tall and "meaty". Am I prejudiced against short, thin men?

I think it would make you a racist if you made a blanket statement or something like, "I WON'T go out with white guys because they are...(whatever)." because not all white men are the same, not all black men are the same, not all hispanic men are the same...

Again, it doesn't seem to ME that you are doing anything wrong, unless you ARE pre-judging by skin color. But if white men just aren't attractive to you, what are you supposed to do? Shut your eyes real tight and hope for the best?! ;)

Peace!

Any chance that this is not a race thing at all, but the typical coming-of-age stretch for independence? You may be subconsciously attempting to confirm for yourself who you are, instead of just going along with the standards of your parents.

Kind of. The fact that you are pre-emptively choosing to rule out people of other races to date says something. There is nothing wrong with having preferences, however. I wouldn't rule anyone out, because you never know...

I do not think that there is anything wrong with that at all. As long as you are looking for other qualities too when picking your mates, you are good to go.

why does everyone get hung up on colour. You are black you like black, i am white,i like white. Dogs shag dogs, cats shag cats, its the natural order of things, Nothing wrong with your preferences. its only natural AND NOT RACIST. so dont worry yourself.
