A difficult one, so much choice. In no particular order:

Dog Soldiers - British horror comedy at it's absolute best. Fully believable characters that could almost be squaddies.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - a classic with dry humour. Only film I have seen twice in the cinema.

The Dam Busters - having been to the Mohner Dam and living near the training dam at Ladybower I love the film. I still feel deep emotion at Richard Todd's final scene (especially since I know as an officer with 7 Para in WW2 he had to write those kind of letters himself).

Saving Private Ryan - The most harrowing opening 20 min of a film I have ever seen, although the rest of the film is a little anti-climactic.

Schindler's List - powerful film that makes you consider what you would have done.

The Fellowship of the Ring - the only film that coul dkeep my older two children spellbound throughout. Breathtaking and everything I had hoped for.

The Longest Day - A wonderful attempt to tell an epic story on an epic scale matched by an attempt to make it as real as possible pre- CGI.

Apocalypse Now- features perhaps one of the best cinematic sequences ever, the Air-Cav assault to the sound of Wagner.

Pirates of the Carribean - Johnny Depp steals the show although I am convinced at least some of the actors were signed up for a straight historical drama.

Carry on Up the Kyber - A wonderful performance from Roy Castle playing the British officer straight. The final dinner scene under fire is one of the most humerous in cinema and perhaps only slightly exgerated from real life.
