I sleep with a light on because when I tried total darkness I kept bumping into things when nature called.

I do. I can't stand bright lights when I have to get up in the middle of the night. I always take a night-lite with me when I am staying in a Motel or Hotel. think they should provide them.

I can sleep with a light on, but do not need one. My husband like's it pitch black in the house when he is sleeping, so that's what we do.

The light is on, dimmed, in the hallway outside my room, so I can see the clock there and know when it is time to get up.
