First was Singapore Idol, followed by Project Superstar, School Superstar,Superband etc .What exactly is the catch? Well the slogan "CALL & VOTE for yr favorite if you want them to stays"Sounds good but its the audience, teenagers even KIDS' money that all these TV shows are targeting.End of the day its the people who organised & planned these programmes who are laughing their way to the bank.Do these people have a conscience Give us a BREAK!

Of course man. The real stars are never bornt out of talent shows, only perhaps 1 out of 100. SingTel is the only company laughing the way to the bank.

I actually like them... but then again I love to go to Karaoke night and listen to the locals try and sing too... some really have an awesome talent that otherwise wouldn't get known... the shows on tv have a raw emotional edge but the comments by celebrity judges I can do without... I say the more the merrier because it sure beats watching Fear Factor that only shows a bunch of supermodel looking egotist eating a bunch of gross stuff... now to me that is what I can definitely do without seeing.

Definitely too many. The best thing for Mediacorp is it costs them nothing to stage these shows. No need to be too creative, just repeat the shows and expand the genre. Audience pay when calling in. And standards are so low and dropping!

well i think that these talent shows are simply a new start for this century so that other people, ordinary ones with special and uniques talents will have the chance to live a life of fame. those votings and all thse sorts of things are their way to see whether people that joined their contests are likeable to the audience and appeal good to their taste because if these will not be counted then it would be a waste of time building up new talents if televiewers don't want to see them

There are definitely too many and they are boring! But good business for the TV-station, since they earn on every call!
