sadder...but wiser...and far more quiet...but with too mcuh of an edge still...
three children who have passed beyond the veil and into the bosom of the gods...drug addiction in the seventies and eighties...cancer in the early 90's...and schizophrenia now...
I find myself stunned as I look around at the world with different eyes...as if i am a cousin of Rip Van Winkle...awakened from torpor...shocked at what I see...how what passes for learned human behaviour is now called human nature and vice versa..how people settle for too little..the ease with which people hate and wallow and marinate in its juices...
A walk in the park is a meal forme...looking up at the sky of a setting sun...almost feeling the clouds tinted orange...so beautiful is the vista that lies before me...that sometimes I catch myself gasping for breath...so deeply does it stir me...
I stay to myself a lot...ignore the insanity of others lest it interrupt the small oasis of peace I have found within and can visit from time to time...at will.
I am far less tolerate of organized and intergenerational ignorance masquerading as religion, family or patriotism...and though I am not depressed there still remains an element of sadness despite my infecting others with my humour and ever present laughter at self.
I guess that old axiom still holds true for me..."Life is too important to be taken too seriously"...no matter what I see...or how easily I am shocked at the things humans do to one another.
And i make sure i carry around the thirteenth commandment wherever I go...to remind myself amidst all I see and do and feel...
"Thou shalt not take thyself...too seriously"
Hahaha! Yeah!
The gods are good...all the time...and so am I.
Peace and blessings be upon you and yours.

Yes definitely, I have had so many experiences, and gained so much knowledge in a short time. If only I knew then what I know now. I have learned to take the good out of the bad and create as many opportunities for myself as I possibly can, and don't let anything slip by me. I thin I changed for the better, I Miss my air bubble at times where you didn't have to care about anything but good grades, but I can live with it.

I think I changed a little
Lost 70 pounds.
Lost my virginity.
At least make an attempt to follow what is fashionable and what is not.
Realized music is something to listen to, not something that defines our personality.
Learned life is not black and white, but mostly gray areas.
Oh, and this is a rarity in the small community that I live in. I have changed how I cut my hair since high school.

I sure have. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps Infantry and served time in 6 countires, including Iraq. Yeah, I'd say I've changed.
But remember, probably 80% of the users here are in, or just entered, High School.

I graduated on May 19th and got a tattoo the following day. It was my first act against the stereotype of "good little smart girl."
Other than that, I have yet to experience all the changes. Life is about changing experiences and I still have a lot of my life left to experience.

I'm a Sophomore in high school, but yes, I've changed a lot...
I have a greater mental ability...
I can carry on conversations better...
I can talk to girls without being so shy...
I have more friends...(does that count?)
I have a greater appreciation for more parents, though they still get on my nerves...

Quite a bit..but most of the basic stuff remained the same...
I didn't follow the career path exactly.
I didn't marry or have kids.
But
I did keep my same moral/religious beliefs for the most part.
I did choose a career that fit my personality and training.
I still like the same stuff and have the same goofy but wry personality.
