there are two methods. One, you can buy a kit which has ink, syringe, drill and instructions
Alternatively you can get a syringe and just drip the ink into the sponge pad at the bottom.
don't put to much in. It various on the capacity of the cartridge.
when i was pushed i used Parker fountain pen ink, but i think you can buy ink jet ink, i purchased a kit and i still drip the ink in the bottom and i am still using the ink from the kit
Here is a link fro the kit i Purchased

Forget about Refill Ink - if u bother about the print quality ( as the print quality will be affected terribly ).
Furthermore, the Refill ink smudges and spoil the internal of printer particularly surrounding the ink cart home position.
Density of Ink matters with Inkjet technology , so choosing the right grade matters. But, invariably refill inks does not come in this grade.

take a 5 ml or 10 ml Syringe and fill the black ink in it, u must be cautious that no air bubble remains inside the syringe.
Now partly remove the sticker on the top of cartirage till the hole to refill the ink appears on ur cartirage and then slowly inject the ink so it doesn't spill out. Repeat the process till ur cartirage is full

Buy a new cartridge. Refilling one voids the HP warrenty and it is not worth the few cents that you will save.
