take out the bios battery

There are two options:
1. Find the computer BIOS battery, which often looks like a watch battery on the mother board, and remove it. You might need a soldering gun to remove it depending on the model

or

2. Go to the manufacturer's web site, and see if there are flash BIOS updates which you can install. Some flash BIOS updates can be installed even if you don't have the BIOS password. I have done this, and it's a lot easier than messing around with some motherboard batteries.

Google for a program called Kill CMOS. You write it to a floppy disk and boot up with it. Anti-virus software detects it as a virus, but it's not. It's simply that it changes your BIOS settings.
