Need a good racing game for my playstation or playstation2?

Question

Im looking for some good car racing games; one that I can create my own car like color, etc. Someone suggested need for speed or underground II. Im confused. Help

Grand Turismo 3: A-spec. It's the best racing game I've played on the PS2, but it still doesn't come close to the Metropolis Street Racer/Project Gotham Racing series. Get a Dreamcast and an Xbox 360 to see what racing games should be like.

I think it depends on what your likes are. For example there is gran turismo 3 and 4. They are both very simulated like which often means hard and a lot of practice is needed to get good. They both also have more then 650 cars. You can modify your cars in them but it's mainly performance upgrades not visual. The need for speed series is aimded on non realistic street racing. In underground II you can modify your performance in less detail then gran turismo 4 but more then need for speed most wanted. However most wanted you can change the visual in a lot of detail. So I'd say if you want to relax and have fun get a need for speed. Which one depending on what I spoke about above. Or if your interested in geting really good at a game and playing the same track over and over again to get good at it, get gran turismo 4. Gran turismo 4 also has a huge career mode while need for speed careers are good but can be finished quickly. Hope this helps. :)

need for speed 2 is very good game having fantastic graphics
u can cutomize the cars and there is lot of options avalible and the game play is also great
if u want better game than there is need for speed most wanted
it is best in its graphics the game is played in daylight but in nfsmostwanted there is limited options about cutomizing the car but the game play is fantastic u will love it .trust me
