First forgive. Be friendly and let him feel safe around you. Let him choose and not be attached to his choice one way or the other. Peace.

I don't think trying to revive friendship with a former flame is a good idea seeing as how you are getting engaged to another man. Especially since you originally wanted to marry the former flame first. It sounds to me like you are not sure about what you want to do. Slow down, talk to someone about it... marriage will be there waiting for you when you are 100% sure about what you want.

First of all... HE RUINED IT? Whoa. I thought TWO people had to be involved in this. Don't put the blame entirely on him.

Why do you want to be friends again? It may never be possible. You crossed the line, and let things be as they are. If you're gettting engaged soon, then do and go on with your life.

You forget the old flame for a while and concentrate on the new relationship. You will have an entire new vistas opened. After that you may not like to revive this old relationship. Do it that way.

Simple, always and I mean always treat him like he is important to you. Not love or affectionate, just who he is.
