I am American, but I swear Americans take everything so seriously. (And our "funny" shows aren't even funny...like Seinfeld? uh okay...)

When I'm in England, people understand what I'm talking about and sarcasm is understood by all...however in America, people take offense to so much. You can't even joke about and ridicule yourself and others. I mean, c'mon people, it's okay to mock others and ourselves once in awhile.

Mocking/teasing/sarcasm is fun!! How else would we laugh? I don't think you are
un-American by wanting to laugh,

BE FREE TO DO SO!

You may want to leave the country until your question dies down though. Uhhh...Can I come too? People do need to lighten up around here!

My sense of humor took a hit after 9/11/01. Since then, humor at work is a thing of the past. We have to be more serious. Even in personal life, my humor isn't what it used to be.

i think americans have not come across yet with the word accepting diversity. i mean well they should think at all times that they're superior or anything. americans especially on tv shows when they joke about on something, well it seems funny. we should just understand them 'cause that's their culture anyway.

Go now, don't wait. Spare us all your cruel humor. Your humor is not sarcasm, it's downright mean.
People will become offended when insulted or ridiculed.
