Not washing it....gross. Ever heard the saying "Don't forget to wash behind your ears!" Try it.

It can be a lymphatic infection that is draining out thru the skin behind the ears. While washing helps it returns within a few hours. You can see your Dr for treatment. I did for years until I found out about ear candling or coning. Now I use them whenever I notice it returning and it causes the lymph nodes to drain naturally.

Not cleaning properly. Behind the ears its warm and dark, and bacteria will grow there easily. Washing with soap and water daily is the trick to smelling nice.

Because it stays moist easily, and the natural crease traps sweat and bacteria, if you don't wash daily, it's smell just like feet!

Ahhhh, that cheesy aroma that says, "Get a washcloth!"

It comes from the accumulation of bacteria, the same way that your underarms may smell when you sweat and bacteria accumulates there.
