Any product or any mathematical operation actually helps us to understand the natural phenomena. For example when a screw is driven in or unscrewed out on a wooden plank that is kept on the ground, although the force exerted is horizontal to the earth, screw moves vertically downwards or upwards to the earth. Some more examples are, jack lifts the vehicle vertically upwards as the jack lever is moved horizontally. When a top is swung on the ground it stand vertically upwards against the gravity although the lace that was wound around the top exerts horizontal force while swinging it away on the ground. So cross (vector) product is useful to study such phenomena.
