a landscape is almost anything, but is more associated with outdoor gardens and planting areas. Really, its almost anything you can see. It is the lay of the land. The landscape of your life, your home, your outside space. It is a space of growth and life. It is what you make it.

Landscape is area that is designed to have plants. You can have a nice green lawn with trees or the desert a rock garden with some trees.

Any outdoor scene is a landscape...but in the sense you mean it, it's the grounds around your house. Most people "landscape" (yes, it can be a verb) their homes with various shrubs, trees and flowers.

Landscaping refers to any activity that modifies the visible features of an area of land, including but not limited to:
1. living elements, such as flora or fauna;
2. natural elements such as landforms, terrain shape and elevation, or bodies of water;
3. human elements such as structures, buildings, fences or other material objects created and/or installed by humans ; and
4. abstract elements such as the weather and lighting conditions.

But literary it is beautification of the surrounding areas of the house with gardens, plants, laying grasses with proper landscaping designs.
