Ok,so my gf's parents are really being ridiculous about this....She wants to move out but they will just not allow it...She's almost 19 years old and is miserable,I'd say she's being neglected Emotionally as well....Is there any way I can get a lawyer to grant her to move out without any intrusion by her parents...It seems this is the only way It can happen...I was thinking sort of a 'court ordered, restraining order'....thanks.

oh,man, you just dont know...her parents are insane....they came tonight and made a huge scene...they just wont allow it...her mom was about to walk into my house to get her...she didnt want to go and she was crying her eyes out,it hurt so much to feel so hopeless...There has to be something we can do,because I think legal action is the only way they will listen..

If she's over 18 there's nothing they can do to stop her. You do not need a court order. In fact, if she tries to leave and they attempt to stop her, she can call the police, get a restraining order against them, sue them for assault and false imprisonment,,,,the list goes on.

But I'd suggest taking a more rational approach--like asking them what their concerns are. They might actually know a thing or two about what it takes to make it on your own.

Well, you have every right to keep anyone you want out of your home, and the police will back you up, but you've said more than enough to indicate that there's way more to this story. If she's not ready to deal with this issue without your help, she's probably not ready to go solo.

Sorry to tell you this, but your girlfriend doesn't want to leave. She has every legal right to pack up and move out right now. If she really wanted to, she would already be gone.

My recommendation - either accept the fact that she is comfortable living at home, or leave her for someone more independent. Either way, she is more likely to make up her mind with you off her back.

your going to move in with an 18 year old!?! dont you think thats kida early to be doing anything. and dont you think seperating her from her parents is going to cause emotional scars, i mean if the parents are bound by a restraining order then they wont be able to talk face to face ever again.

well ummm i don't really know for sure about that court thing.... but what i am thinking is if she is almost 19 then why can't she move out anyways? she is legally an adult now so they can't or should be legally able to keep her living with them cuz they are her parents cuz she is an adult now... Good Luck though! i hope everything wroks out!!!♥

2 ways with its sub-ways...

1st way... run away from home i.e. moving out quietly w/o th parents knowing...
2nd way... moving out by force...

But still, it is a parent's roll to restrict her of what they think is unnessary for her to do...
and still there's also something she has things to do in her own free will that her parents just can't understand what kind of act she's doing...
Try to reason some more of good things to move out...
Find the reason and solve the gap... good luck

And the added information is in... -.-

->Go and try to protect her man...
->n ignore what I type up here... I needed more information...
