I wish to know YOUR reasons for ending a friendshsip. If it depends on how long the friendship has been Please say how long. (a few days, a week, a year. etc,)I want to end a friendship. I have known this person for a month. I know him because he is the nephew of my friends mom,This person drinks, used to do drugs, smokes, has a kid, used to be in jail, is on probation, and is 25...
Yeha i know, i am 15. Crazy. But well i am a good listener and i listen to this guy all the time. But over time he has become jealous of other guys. When we talk on the phone, wich is not often, he thinks someone is with me. But he is drunk. When he is on his 5 senses he is a real nice guy. really fun.He make sme laugh and we ALL have a real fun time. Do you think i should tell him the truth ???Do you think i should be honest and tell him that i don't like to be around him when he drinks??? I know what i must do. i just want to know what you think. Good way to earn points

In your case the truth is definitely the route you should take. The so called friendship is not in your best interest. I am positive he has an ulterior motive and he cannot be trusted. Let him know that his drinking is a problem for you even though at other times he's OK. Tell him that his jealousy is really out of character and it makes you feel that he has the tendency to want to control your life. You parents feel that he is too old for you to be hanging around with and they too are very uncomfortable with his drinking.

You don't hold his past against him but it is your sincere wish that he honor your wishes. You have to part company with him for it is best for all. You would like to continue to have mutual respect for him but you have decided that this is best for you. His reactions will confirm that you have made the right choice because I believe he will not want to accept it. At any rate you will have been straight forward and he will have no choice. Stick to your guns and feel confident in your decision.

Be a real friend to him and tell him the truth, that you don't want to be around him because he's an alcoholic...

He seems kind of exciting to you because he's so much older--well the reason he's looking for a kid, not a woman, is because a woman wouldn't put up with him!

Come on! He's 10 years older than you, has a kid he isn't taking care of (because he should be with the kid instead of with you) has been in jail.. ?? If you picked a name randomly from the phone book you would probably get a better guy!

You're 15--do your parents know this guy is spending lots of time talking to you on the phone? You can always tell him your parents won't let you anymore--parents are good for that, you can blame them for making you do the right thing. :)

Yes, stand up for yourself and always remember that it doesnt matter what other people think. Sure you like this kid and he's real nice with his 5 senses..but like you said-you dont like it when he's drunk, so be honest tell him and just stay away. I mean he shouldnt abandon you as a friend for being completely honest with him.
